What an ECU Remap Does
The ECU is your engine's brain. It runs the manufacturer's factory calibration — designed for a global average across fuel grades, climates and emissions targets. A remap rewrites that calibration for how you actually drive on UK roads, on UK fuel, with safe margins kept intact. The result is more torque, sharper response, often better motorway MPG.
Diesel & Petrol Stage 1 — Realistic Gains
Stage 1 is software only on a stock car. It's safe for daily use, doesn't affect insurance if you declare it, and delivers most of the available headroom for less than a quarter of the cost of bolt-on hardware.

Will my insurance cover a remap?
Yes, provided you declare it. Most insurers will continue cover — sometimes with a small premium increase. Performance-friendly insurers (Adrian Flux, A-Plan, Sky Insurance) handle remaps with no issue. Failing to declare voids the policy.
Can you reverse a remap?
Yes — we keep your original ECU file and can flash it back to stock at any time. Useful for sale, warranty claims, or if you change your mind.
How long does it take?
Stage 1 with dyno verification typically takes 1-2 hours. Drop off mid-morning, collect by lunchtime. We can also work to a specific time slot if you've travelled in.
Will I see better MPG?
On most modern turbo diesels — yes, typically 3-5mpg better at motorway cruise because you're using less throttle for the same speed. Town driving may show smaller gains. The exception is if you start using the new power.
